I just got the original novel where the excerpt on TP was taken from and I’m going to write to Harper Perennial (www.harperperennial.com), the publishers, to ask for permission! Sigh! I thought Fair Use would be enough, but it might not, so I’m going to check. Apparently, the excerpt is a whole chapter from this book, chapter 6.
Anyway, I recommend the book! Her name as the author of this book is Mary Crow Dog, and she writes it with Richard Erdoes.
